Ribelli e tedofori: quarant'anni di Festival a Dresda
Nel 2017 il Dresdner Musikfestspiele celebra il sua 40° edizione con un ricco programma e, inoltre, sarà ospitato in una nuova sala per i suoi concerti, caratterizzati da elementi tradizionali e di innovazione musicale.
Dal 18 maggio al 18 giugno 2017 il Dresdner Musikfestispiele celebra la sua 40° stagione con un programma di alto livello. La “Luce” è stata sceltacome filo conduttore di questa edizione e il sovrintendente Jan Vogler ha invitato artisti e orchestre di fama mondiale e orchestre, e ha garantito grande qualità durante i cinquantotto appuntamenti suddivisi in differenti sedi, con un evento nella città di Berlino.
Jan Vogler ha affermato: “Il tema della Luce rappresenta la visione umana perpetua dei lumi. La musica crea consapevolezza, unisce le persone e apre nuove prospettive. Si tratta di un fattore importante per il progresso della società. Il programma del Dresdner Musikfestspiele presenta quest'anno molte novità e stelle del mondo della musica. Insieme a questi meravigliosi artisti, programmi diversi e molteplici luoghi a ospitare gli spettacoli. Nel 2017 il Dresdner musikfestspiele è ardente di esplorare nuovi sentieri nel presentare la musica classica.”
Stelle internazionali del calibro di Diana Damrau, Bryn Terfel, Max Raabe e Bill Murray celebreranno la 40° stagione del Dresdner Musikfestispiele insieme al pubblico.
L'inaugurazione del Festival vedrà riuniti la celebre violinista violinista Anne-Sophie Mutter e la Filarmonica di Zurigo csotto la direzione Fabio Luisi nella cornice della Semperoper. Durante le quattro settimane del Festival, saranno più di venti le sale che ospiteranno artisti artisti tra cui l'Orchestra del Teatro Mariinsky diretta da Valery Gergiev, la City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra diretta da Gustavo Gimeno e l'Orchestre de Paris con Kate Lindsey sotto la guida di Thomas Hengelbrock. Saranno eseguite musiche tradizionali di compositori come come Bach, Beethoven, Shostakovich e Stravinsky.
La MDR Symphony Orchestra diretta da Kristjan Järvi, invece, presenterà un film-concerto su Martin Lutero dal titolo “500 anni di Riforma”, per cui il compositore di Dresda Sven Helbig attualmente sta scrivendo la colonna sonora. Il pianista Francesco Tristano e l'organista Cameron Carpenter proseguiranno la serie “Beats Classical”, offrendo concerti studiati appositamente per un pubblico più giovane.
La London Philharmonic Orchestra è l'orchestra ospite principale del Festival: eseguirà due concerti a Dresda sotto la direzione di Vladimir Jurowski e inaugurerà la Concert Hall, recentemente rinnovata presso il Kulturpalast di Dresda, insieme con il pianista Jan Lisiecki e il violoncellista Steven Isserlis. La riapertura di questa sala nell'aprile del 2017, dopo cinque anni dall'inizio dei lavori riconsegna alla città una sala da concerto dalla concezione acustica moderna, alla pari di altre sale europee.
Dopo i concerti celebrati nel corso degli ultimi cinque anni, l'Orchestra del festival edita il suo primo CD Sony Classical il 21 ottobre 2016. L'incisione contiene la Sinfonia n° 2 di Robert Schumann, registrata in studio, e il Concerto per violoncello eseguito nel maggio di quest'anno, con la direzione di Ivor Bolton e il violoncellista Jan Vogler come solista.
Per la 40° edizione del Dresdner Musikfestspiele, l'orchestra utilizzerà strumenti storici, nell'intento di riprodurre il suono originale delle opere di Beethoven, Strauss e Wagner. Con le sue interpretazioni straordinariamente vivaci, l'orchestra fa la sua prima apparizione al di fuori di Dresda il 10 giugno 2017 a Berlino, con il soprano Waltraud Meier come solista.
E per il brillante finale del 40° Dresdner Musikfestispiele, l'orchestra del festival riunirà i giovani artisti della “Bohème 2020”; un progetto partito dal 2014, per l'interpretazione dell'opera di Beethoven Leonore, versione originale di Fidelio.

Il Festival di Musica di Dresda continua ad espandersi, perseguendo il suo obiettivo di diventare uno dei più importanti festival musicali del mondo: per la stagione 2017, saranno messi a disposizione 11.000 biglietti in più rispetto alla scorsa stagione.

The 2017 Dresden Music Festival celebrates its 40th Season with an Exquisite Program – and a New Concert Hall
Il Dresden Music Festival celebrates its 40th Festival season from May 18 to June 18, 2017 with an especially dazzling program. Having chosen »LIGHT« as the season motto, Intendant Jan Vogler has invited world-renowned artists and orchestras to Dresden for this coming year, ensuring brilliant moments in 58 events spread throughout the performance venues as well as a guest appearance in Berlin.
»The theme of ›LIGHT‹ describes the perpetual human vision of Enlightenment. Music creates awareness, brings people together and opens new perspectives. It is a major factor in healing communities and societies. The program of the 2017 Dresden Music Festival presents many mavericks and revolutionaries among the artistic stars of the music world. Together with these wonderful artists, diverse programs and varied performance venues, the 2017 Dresden Music Festival is blazing new trails in the presentation of classical music,« Jan Vogler said in Dresden.
International stars such as Diana Damrau, Bryn Terfel, Max Raabe and Bill Murray celebrate the 40th season in the history of the Dresden Music Festival together with the audience in 2017.
The launch of the Festival sees a reunion with the legendary violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter and the Philharmonia Zurich under Fabio Luisi at the Semperoper. During the four Festival weeks, more than 20 different performance venues welcome artists including the Orchestra of the Mariinsky Theatre under Valery Gergiev, the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra under Gustavo Gimeno and the Orchestre de Paris with Kate Lindsey under Thomas Hengelbrock, performing works by musical »torchbearers« such as Bach, Beethoven, Shostakovich and Stravinsky. The MDR Symphony Orchestra under Kristjan Järvi contributes a Martin Luther film-concert to the 2017 theme of »500 Years of Reformation«, for which the Dresden-based composer Sven Helbig is currently writing the music. The pianist Francesco Tristano and the organist Cameron Carpenter continue the series »Classical Beats«, offering concert concepts specifically tailored to a younger audience.
The London Philharmonic Orchestra is the Festival’s orchestra in residence, performing two concerts in Dresden under Vladimir Jurowski – and inaugurating the freshly renovated Concert Hall at Dresden’s Kulturpalast together with pianist Jan Lisiecki and cellist Steven Isserlis. The reopening of this hall in April 2017 after five years of elaborate reconstruction not only restores a traditional performance venue to the Dresden Music Festival, but also gives the city a modern, acoustically high-class concert hall on par with its European counterparts.
After celebrated concerts during the past five years, the Dresden Festival Orchestra releases its first CD on SONY Classical on October 21, 2016. The studio recording of Robert Schumann’s Symphony No. 2 and Cello Concerto took place in May of this year, conducted by Ivor Bolton and featuring cellist Jan Vogler as soloist. For the 40th edition of the Dresden Music Festival, the Orchestra, which uses historical instruments, strives to reproduce the original sound of works by Beethoven, Strauss and Wagner. With its extraordinarily vivid interpretations, the orchestra makes its first appearance outside of Dresden on June 10, 2017 at Berlin’s Philharmonie, with Waltraud Meier as soloist. And for the brilliant finale of the 40th Dresden Music Festival, the Dresden Festival Orchestra joins the young artists of the »Bohème 2020«, which has been developing at the Dresden Music Festival since 2014, for its own rendition of Beethoven’s opera »Leonore«, the original version of »Fidelo«.

The Dresden Music Festival continues to expand, pursuing its goal of becoming one of the world’s most important music festivals: for the 2017 season, 11,000 additional concert tickets will be offered, compared to last season.
